AC01 10 Pointed Ang Ku Kueh or Ang Ngee
Ang ku kueh in the pointed form is always made to order, only for celebratory occasions, like baby full month, birthdays etc, with the symbolism for longevity. Red symbolises prosperity and good fortune.
They are called Ang Ngee, or Ang Yi, where the word "Ang" means red, and "ngee" or "yi" means round in dialect.
This explains why we only see pointed versions when there's a celebration, whilst the flat ones are easily available all the time.
